So while they're out Trick-or-Treating, the mommies turn the Larson house into ""The Mommies' House of Horror."" They pull their own pranks on everyone to get evenwith them being unappreciative. Danny - Carol puts him in a desk chair with a thinking cap and makes him sit there until he writes a thank-you note to his grandmother. Blake - Force him to talk to a girl he has a crush on. Casey - Marilyn has Adam do her math homework, and makes her do the corrections, but it's difficult to do since she's dressed as the Golden Gate Bridge. Adam - Marilyn shows him Tiffany kissing a pizza delivery boy. Jack - Marilyn makes him put on his wedding tuxedo (to show that time has taken its toll). Carol in the end decides to make the pie ""her own way"" by getting a ready-made pie crust with filling in a can, which turns out to be the recipe.

For Valentine's Day, Carol decided to surprise Paul by getting her tubes tied so they don't have to worry about having another baby. However, Paul's gift to Carol is getting a vasectomy. He talls Jack, Jack tells Marilyn, and Marilyn tells Carol. When Carol finds out, she decides not to have her tubes tied. However, when Barb drives Paul to the doctor to get the vasectomy, he chickens out and the two are having sex without birth control unknowing. After a test, Carol learns she's not pregnant.

She tells the story, including all the plans she used to help them including an exercise bike, the ""junk food only"" diet, and a workout video. Carol & Marilyn decide to make their own ""mommy edition"" exercise video showing ways how mommies stay in shape by doing household chores. In the end Barb finally admits she's not perfect, and that she failed at helping them lose weight, although Tom had lost five pounds due to going two weeks without coffee cake.
