Trapped in a bizarre inner world, Ryner faces the Alpha, but Iluna Lieutolu, claiming to be his mother, temporarily dissolves it through emergence, telling him to pass through a large door, all before she is devoured by the Alpha. He suddenly yet unexpectedly wakes up in a bed with his longtime companion.
